[OFBiz] Dev - Inventory Reservation

I've set Inventory Res true on the stock ofbiz store(OFBiz E-Commerce Store [9000]).
I've added inventory items for my products in the associated 
warehouse(Web Store Warehouse [WebStoreWarehouse]).

Now I go to ordermgr & place a order for my products. I make payments for the order
using a billing account(& hence the order is approved on creation).

The problem is that the inventory is not reserved, instead a new inventory item is created
with a negative value(if item quantity is 5, then the inventory is -5).

The system is not reserving the inventory that is already there.

I try the same with one of the ofbiz widgets & the available inventory is reserved.

Can somebody clear this up for me. What could I be doing wrong.
